Trance Learning are a couple of words I put together. By themselves, Trance Learning means nothing. However, from a learning point of view, if you want to learn something, it is often much easier and faster when you are in some form of a trance. So for some people, trance learning means everything. Or not.
Think about it, how often do you go into a dream like state when you are paying attention to something.. like reading an interesting (or very boring) book, or watching a show on television or even just driving down the highway on a long road trip? Whether you know it or not, there is some element of trance learning taking place in your mind, whether your conscious or unconscious. The trick is to consciously use these states of trance for more effective learning.
Is there a particular way to induce this trance learning when you want it? Yes, and no. There are many ways you can induce such a trance learning state. For example, if you learn Silva Mind Control (or Silva Method), you would have installed a particular finger anchor to bring you into what is known as the Alpha state (where your brainwaves slow to about 7 -10 Hertz or cycles per second). This is the state when you day dream or just before you wake up or just before you doze off to sleep. Many people use this Alpha state for learning and memorizing stuff.
In the same way, there are so many other ways people go into trance. For many, just stepping into the elevator will trigger some sort of trance. Whether you use it for learning or not, is another matter. The key is to find a way to trigger this state of trance learning at will e.g. when you want to learn something new or when you want to get the most learnings from a particular experience. So if you haven’t already, it’s time to learn to trigger at will various states of trance learning.
Trance learning is like a swiss army knife, from such trance states, you can have access to many learning resources to make your learning even more effective than you imagine possible. Test it out!
NLP Techniques can certainly be used to influence others, whether its persuading the people you are selling your services to, influencing a team of interviewers trying to decide if you’re the right person for the job, persuading your partner into going to that place you want to go for the weekend… and many, many others.
There are literally dozens of books teaching NLP techniques in the market today, including free NLP Techniques on websites and blogs of NLP trainers.
How many NLP Techniques are there? Too many to even attempt to cover here (although there’s a book that lists over 350 NLP Techniques and you can buy this on Amazon).
A better question is: How many NLP Techniques do I need to know to affect the change I want in my life or in the lives of people I come into contact with? After all, sometimes all you need to make a change is a right word at the right time in the right way.
It’s like learning photography. You don’t need to know all the features on your camera before you can take photos. For many purposes, even a decent point and shoot camera on auto mode can give people what they want i.e. sweet memories of their wonderful moments.
So in this case, when dealing with psychological problems or relationship matters, you often really don’t need to know more than just a few.
If you are new to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), you can begin to apply it by just applying whatever you already know and see how well that works. And keep testing things out till you get the results you want. If you apply NLP Techniques properly, even if you don’t yet know the theory behind those techniques, they usually work just as well.
So if you want to start benefiting from NLP and you’re a beginner, go online and look for the websites and blogs of the more established NLP trainers and Developers (I’ll do a review of some of their blogs and websites in time). You can often find a brief and sufficiently detailed collection of NLP techniques you can immediately use and test out.
NLP is more towards Doing rather than just Knowing, so learn a bit, do a lot and get really good really fast!
Stress Management is something that are often discussed in many companies. Some companies send their stressed out employees to stress management courses. Some others organize family day outings or holidays cum team building sessions. A few other companies even have work-life balance policies in place.
And, for many, many others, that’s all they do, just talk about it (if at all) and do nothing.
And it’s not their fault, really.
Stop and think about it: Can a family day in the park suddenly transform stressed out executives to smiling, relaxed, high performing ones? Or a three day company trip to Bali for that matter?
Highly unlikely, isn’t it? It might work in the short term, but not for long. Regardless of the approach, the root problem is that stress is not so easy to define, much less tackle in a holistic manner. One shoe definitely doesn’t fit all, in this case. Which is why stress management is not so straightforward.
You see, as you may already know, there are different types of stress. There is stress for the body based on physiological factors like when your body gets too cold or too hot or even when you do not drink enough water. There is emotional stress when you’re working with people you don’t get along with, or with a boss you don’t see eye to eye with. There is stress from your own expectations of yourself and others, whether at home or at work. There is stress that comes from pushing yourself way too hard and too long e.g. working way into the night and even weekends, without getting enough rest.
More recently, the 2000 annual “Attitudes In The American Workplace VI” Gallup Poll sponsored by the Marlin Company found that (http://www.stress.org/job.htm):
And those are figures from 12 years ago. Imagine how much higher they must be today.
So if you want to manage your stress, you need to first ask the basic question: what does stress management mean to me?
That’s a good place to start, if you haven’t already.
